5 Ways to Add CBD to Your Holiday Meals!

The holidays are a magical time – we get to eat wonderful food and spend time with friends and family. Why not make it even better by adding CBD to your dishes? CBD is not only anti-inflammatory, it also has been shown to calm nerves and contribute to “bliss” feelings… (sounds like a good plan to deal with your judge-y Aunt Sally).

We’ve come up with 5 ways to add CBD to your holiday meal. Take a look and find a recipe that works great for you!

Gravy

The best gravy has butter, it’s a fact! But you can make your gravy even better by substituting plain-jane butter with CBD infused butter like we offer here. Our CBD Ghee is lactose and casein free, allowing your dairy sensitive relative to enjoy it also!

Paleo Hacks has a great grain-free gravy recipe that can easily be substituted with our CBD Butter Oil.

Check out the original recipe here. Or try our take on it:

  • 4 Cups of turkey drippings or turkey stock.
  • 1/4 cup CBD infused Ghee
  • 1/2 c Tapioca starch
  • 1 t Salt
  • 1/2t Black pepper
  1.  If using turkey drippings, strain drippings into a large bowl to remove any fat.
  2. Add butter, salt and black pepper to a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted.
  3. Lower heat and whisk in tapioca starch, stirring constantly for 3-4 minutes. Slowly whisk in drippings. Continue to whisk to prevent clumping and until gravy thickens.
  4. Remove from heat and pour into a gravy bowl. Serve immediately.

Casserole

Green bean casserole, it wan be divisive at the dinner table.. Some people love it some people loathe it. One thing is certain, it can be made delicious in a much more healthy way than the traditional ‘canned onions and soup’ method. We scour the web and found a great recipe by paleo running mama. Check out her original and detailed recipe here. Make it even better by drizzling CBD Olive Oil over the finished product for added boost in anti-inflammatory ingredients and healthy fats. Ham Glaze

A glazed ham is an indulgent treat; it’s very involved to make, requires many ingredients, and takes a long time. What a better gift to your family than to make such a valuable treat. Well store bought glazed ham is loaded with sugar, while you may not be very worried about this during the holidays why not choose a healthy and delicious choice? This recipe from Paleo leap looks amazing and only uses 1/2 c of honey… imagine your ham glazed with the warm taste of honey.

Add some CBD substituting the recipe’s plain-jane ghee with our CBD Butter Oil.

Cookies

It’s the holidays, even the most healthy of us enjoy a cookie or five. We actually prefer the chew and flavor of these gluten-free snickerdoodles even more than the standard fare. It’s easy to add CBD by either swapping the plain-jane butter with our CBD Butter Oil or spritz some of our Cinnamon CBD Spray in the mix for an extra spicy kick! Check the recipe here and grab our CBD Butter here and our spray here.

Vegetables

Probably the easiest way to add CBD to your meal is to simply drizzle some CBD Olive Oil on your roasted vegetables. Our olive oil is made with 100% cold pressed extra virgin Greek olives from our friends over at Kasandrinos Olive Oil, a family owned multi-generational company. Simply roast your veg and finish with our CBD Olive Oil. Need some roasted veggitable inspo? Check out this recipe by Natural family.

BONUS: Homemade Eggnog!

If you’ve never had REAL eggnog you are in for a treat! When you make your own nogg you have complete control over the ingredients, go old school and use white sugar or substitute with monkfruit, erythritol or whatever you like. We personally recommend substituting in raw whole milk, which is full of vitamins and good fats, and monkfruit which is a natural sweetener. How do you add CBD? When you’re all finished spritz some of our Cinnamon CBD Spray on top of your eggnog for some extra flavor and health benefits too.  Check out this traditional eggnogg recipe and adjust it to fit your diet!
